Narrative Services
Hourly Narrative Consultations & Brainstorming
I offer consulting services in one and two hour blocks of time. These are helpful for the business owner or individual who doesn’t need (or can’t afford) a larger narrative, storytelling and marketing campaign. They are also useful for those companies who want to ‘kick the narrative tires’ before committing to a full campaign. Here’s how it works:
One hour Session: During this phone call we talk about your current narrative and stories and how effective they are or aren’t. You can ask me any questions you may have about narrative, stories, storytelling and their place in your marketing mix. While on the phone, I’ll do my best to give you specific, actionable recommendations to help you to frame and tell your stories.
Two hour Session: This is the one I recommend because it includes me spending an hour reviewing your current narrative, stories, your industry’s stories and those of your competitors, in advance, and making a list of ideas, recommendations, questions, etc., prior to us spending the second hour on the phone.
Workshops/Classes/Clinics
Between us we will set up a learning environment conducive to your narrative development efforts.
If you’re a business or charitable organization, we will evaluate and assess the stories that you’ve been telling, the stories that your industry is telling, the stories that any competitors are telling and, the stories that your customers, potential customers and donors are telling. Once we have that evaluation and assessment we’ll plan and implement the bigger stories that will enable you to drive innovation, sales, donations, productivity and leadership. If you’re an individual, we’ll do a very similar thing but tailor it for what you want to accomplish with your personal storytelling.

Chief Narrative Officer
I can function as your virtual Chief Narrative Officer, storyteller in residence, or Chief Marketing Officer. It can save you a lot of money if you have the need for someone to help you drive and monitor your narrative, story, storytelling and marketing efforts but don’t want to take on the expense of a full time employee.

Speaking Engagements
I want to speak at your next event. Speaking topics include:
Why Narrative? Why Story? Why Now?
Types of storytelling. Which ones are right for you?
It’s not all about you. Creating narrative around your customers.
Cultures of story. Does your business have one?
If you’re the do-it-yourself type, you might also want to look through the Story Resources page to get some ideas about how story telling and narrative can help you. Doing so might also help you to clarify in your own mind how I, or one of my colleagues, might be able to help you should you decide you’d like someone to step in and help you with those efforts.
If you’re looking to tell and share your stories on the web, and you don’t have a blog or website, I can help you with your site or blog development in WordPress. It’s a great publishing platform to showcase your stories and content.
I am confident that I can help you. If, after talking to you about your needs and desires, I realize that I am not the consultant, coach or teacher that you need, I will gladly recommend someone who is. As closely as I follow the world of story and storytelling, getting you together with someone who can do exactly what you need should not pose a problem.
If you haven’t already seen these, you might want to read through them as you have time.
When you’re ready to get started, or if you have any questions, contact me here, in email, on Twitter @greggvm or via Google Voice (919) 883-5145 and let me help you to breathe life into your marketing efforts by crafting and telling your stories.
